Jamestown Shores

Our clients purchased this 1970’s home for its proximity to the water and its size – not for its original 1970s columns and vinyl siding. Their goal was to create a home that has an open, clean, and modern interior, with an exterior that fits into the context of Jamestown, Rhode Island. To achieve this, we reworked the interior layout opening up the floor plan as much as possible. We also rebuilt the roof structure with a steeper slope to blend into the context of the neighborhood. We added dormers to the roof and a front porch to complete the look. This home features Andersen 400 Series windows, Versatex exterior trim, and Western Red Cedar siding with a weathering stain. We completely renovated this house in 2018-2019, acting as both the architect and the general contractor.
